What are we looking for?
GIGS Guitar Studio is seeking a talented, energetic, and down to earth musician aged 21-28 who loves kids and loves to rock. We are searching for instructors with a background in musical performance to share their skills with our wonderful student body in a relaxed but totally upbeat teaching environment. At GIGS, we encourage our staff to connect with their students on a level that allows each child to discover and explore whatever music inspires them. The main goal of lessons at GIGS is to instill in each student the skill and confidence necessary to rock out in front of audiences both big and small and have an awesome time while doing it.
Who are we?
GIGS offers guitar, bass, drum, piano, ukulele, and vocal lessons to students of all ages. We focus on keeping learning fun, and we make sure that every student is playing songs that they love . Our staff is comprised of young professionals who are making a living writing and performing original music in the D.C. area, college students who are passionate about music and looking for a part-time job while earning their degree, or post-grad students looking for part time work in their gap year. Most of our students begin lessons with no prior experience, and we take great pride in developing young, enthusiastic musicians.
Job responsibilities
  • Teach recurring weekly music lessons at GIGS from 3:30-8:30 1-4 days per week Monday-Thursday afternoon
  • Maintain the highest level of quality instruction during each music lesson taught at GIGS by using the standard GIGS Method, while representing the company with the highest level of professionalism
  • Assist the team during non-teaching hours by completing tasks from a predetermined and prioritized list of duties, to be delegated by the Studio Manager
  • Applicant must be proficient in guitar playing, with the ability to play songs through and sing along. Proficiency in the following instruments/areas is not mandatory but an added bonus: Piano, Bass, Drum, and Vocals
  • Applicant should have some performance experience
  • Applicant should be available anywhere from one to four days a week within the window of Monday-Thursdays 3:30pm-8:30pm, depending on availability and employment needs

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
