Lead Technician (A/V and IT Systems Integration)

The Lead Technician provides oversight of subcontractors and other technicians assigned to their project, including: task assignments, leading, coaching, and developing the technical staff. Lead Technicians are expected to perform the same work duties as all other Technicians while they are not leading, managing, organizing, or communicating with customers.
This position will also be responsible for promoting and adhering to company and industry standards for Installation, Commissioning and Quality Control to fulfill and exceed customer expectations. This person will be responsible for completion of entire projects or assigned portions of projects in a timely and responsible manner, while providing leadership and technical support to projects as needed. Additionally, the Lead Technician is responsible for managing customer relationships at sites by providing professional, courteous support at all times.
General ResponsibilitiesYou will perform installation tasks in all stages of the project lifecycle for smart building and smart home technology integration projects, while also serving as the onsite lead managing other technicians and/or subcontractors. You will report to the project manager on each project and in general to the Director of Operations. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting TVs, projectors, speakers, configuring equipment
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV or IT systems related tasks
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
Projector and screen support structure installations
Test point to point functionality of systems
Field installation of control programs (Crestron)- upload and download capability
Load and test code for control and DSP systems
Make minor programming changes under the direction of an engineer or programmer
Document, maintain, support, and repair IT/network systems, distributed audio/video solutions, lighting & control systems, digital security surveillance systems (access control, alarm, and CCTV), video conferencing systems, smart battery-backups and other electronic system integration solutions based on blueprints of electrical layouts and building plans.
Provide technical support on IT/Network, A/V hardware, control systems, and signal flow issues.
Maintain equipment and analyze operational malfunctioning with testing devices such as Fluke Networks certifiers, multimeters and test equipment to locate and diagnose nature of defect and ascertain repairs to be made. Test and repair circuits and sensors based on wiring and system specifications.
Operate and test equipment to ensure elimination of malfunction.
Lift and climb ladders to install, disconnect or repair necessary equipment.
Clearly communicate expectations to team members.
Lead, coach, and motivate project team members on a daily basis.
Comply with and enforce standard policies and procedures.
Skills and Abilities
Must have strong communication and customer service skills and be willing to lead other technicians
Must possess a clean professional appearance and positive attitude
Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
Basic computer knowledge
Understand signal flow, control circuit, and AV and IT system designs for in-office and site installations.
Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel with a clean driving record, a valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds, work in confined spaces (attics, crawl spaces, etc) in varied weather conditions.
Ability to set up, test, calibrate and commission equipment and devices as required to produce fully functional systems. This includes video displays, display systems, screens, cameras, switchers, scalers, processors, transmitters, receivers, interfaces, microphones, mixers, amplifiers, controls, and other active and passive devices.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 3 years' experience in installation AV systems
Control System installation and commissioning experience. (Crestron Preferred, AMX and Extron are a plus)
Polycom & Cisco video conference installation experience
Audio DSP Installation and commissioning experience
InfoComm CTS certification required, or you must be willing to obtain the certification within the first 6 months of employment. CTS-I is a plus.
Self-starter, self-motivated, and a dependable team player
Minimum of a Highschool Diploma or equivalent preferred

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
